There are many exams conducted by the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC). In which many students prepare for Civil Services Exam (Class 1-2) every year. Today we are going to give you complete information about this exam pattern so read carefully.
What is the GPSC Civil Services Exam Pattern?
Friends in civil service exam you are taken in three stages. (1) Prelims Exam, (2) Mains Exam and (3) Interview Exam. This exam has to be given in three stages.
1) Information about the Prelim Exam
There are two papers in the prelim exam. In which (1) General Study-1 and (2) General Study-2. Questions are asked from four different topics in the paper of General Study-1. Questions are asked from four subjects: History, Cultural Heritage, Constitution of India, and General Intellectual Ability.
In General Study questions are also asked from four subjects. Including Geography, Economy and Planning, Science and Technology, and Current Affairs. Questions are asked from these four topics. Both the papers are of MCQ type. Both papers are of 200 marks and 200 questions are asked.
A question is of one mark. Friends in this exam paper come in two languages. In which the paper is printed in two languages, Gujarati and English. There is a negative marking in which you get one mark if you get three questions wrong. You are given three hours for these papers.
There is no cut-off to pass the prelim exam. But 15 times as many candidates as released by GPSC are passed. Which will be passed category-wise.
2) Information about the Main Exam
Only candidates who have cleared the prelims exam can appear in this exam. There are a total of 6 papers in this exam. All these papers are descriptive type which means you have to write all these papers.
(1) is of Gujarati language in which questions on Gujarati language and grammar are asked. (2) Language and Grammar questions are asked even in English language papers. (3) A dissertation is an article paper. It consists of three parts in which three essays are to be written. Who has to write an essay within the limit of 900 words.
(4) Paper of General Studies-1. In which questions will be asked about subjects like history, geography, and cultural heritage. (5) Paper of General Studies-II. Questions will be asked about topics like the entire governance system of India, the constitution, public administration, state government functions, etc.
6) Belongs to General Studies-3. In which questions related to Science and Technology, Economy and Planning and Current Affairs are asked. All the papers are of 150 marks. There are total papers of 900 marks. Which is very important. These six papers are very useful for merit, so it is necessary to score maximum marks.
You can take the main exam in the Gujarati language and also in the English language. You can write some questions in a single paper in English and also in Gujarati. You can write non-language papers in both languages. You have to write a Gujarati paper in Gujarati and an English paper in English.
If you know the first question well in the Gujarati language then you can write that question in Gujarati language and if you think that I can write the next question well in the English language then you can write that question in the English language. Thus this facility is provided only by GPSC.
Students who will score good marks out of 900 marks will be called for the interview test. In which thrice as many candidates are called for the interview test.
3) Information about the Interview Exam
GPSC Civil Services Exam Interview Exam is of 100 Marks. In which a board is formed with members of GPSC and others and this interview test is conducted by them. In which the candidate’s personality is checked and marks are given accordingly.
This exam not only tests your knowledge. Because the verification of knowledge is done only when you pass the prelims and mains exam. Checking whether you are a suitable person for this post or not.
In the interview exam, even the candidate does not know who is going to interview him. When you go for the interview you have to pick up the ticket and you have to go to the board number written in it and take the exam.
